The Challenge
As Werbeoffensive's network of digital advertising displays grew, their manual per-display update process became increasingly unsustainable. They needed a centralized solution that could manage content remotely across multiple locations, handle scheduling, and work reliably even with intermittent connectivity.
Our Solution
We developed a complete digital signage management system that includes a cloud-based central dashboard, real-time scheduling capabilities, and custom display software running on the devices. The system enables remote management of all displays, automated content distribution, and reliable operation even with intermittent connectivity.
Technical Approach
- Implemented a Node.js backend with Socket.IO for real-time communication between displays and control center
- Developed custom Electron applications for display devices with offline-first architecture
- Created content caching system with intelligent prefetching based on scheduling data
- Engineered automated failover mechanisms using background service workers
- Built custom reconciliation algorithms for handling display reconnection edge cases
- Implemented AES-256 encryption for secure content delivery across public networks
